GSK Celebrates 2025 IMPACT Award Winners

  • $1 million in award funds donated to nonprofits improving health in the Triangle (North Carolina) and Greater Philadelphia regions

  • GSK employees gather to volunteer their professional skills in support of winning nonprofits

GSK [LSE/NYSE: GSK] is honoring 20 nonprofits for their outstanding contributions to improving health in the Triangle (North Carolina) and Greater Philadelphia regions. The 20 GSK IMPACT Award winners (10 per region) are receiving $50,000 each to build their capacity and support their organizations’ missions to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals in their local communities. Winners address a variety of community health factors such as education and employment, family and social support, nutrition, and affordable housing.

To date, GSK has awarded more than $17 million in unrestricted funding to local nonprofits across the two regions, which are home to the company’s US corporate hubs. Unrestricted funding allows the nonprofits to use the money for any purpose to further their work.

This year, GSK is excited to introduce a new opportunity for employees to provide even more support to winning nonprofits through skills-based volunteering as part of the GSK IMPACT Awards. More than 60 employees will join the 10 nonprofits in each location – on 11 November in Philadelphia, PA and 18 November in Durham, NC – to work with leaders to brainstorm solutions to challenges their organizations are facing, drawing on their own expertise and professional skills.

Maya Martinez-Davis, President, US, GSK said: “At GSK, our dedication to supporting the health and wellbeing of our communities goes far beyond the development of innovative vaccines and medicines to prevent and treat disease. We are proud to provide funding to outstanding nonprofit organizations in the Triangle region of North Carolina and Greater Philadelphia area—places where we live and work. Additionally, we are engaging our talented GSK people in volunteering efforts, helping those on the front lines to improve health outcomes and deliver essential support to those most in need.”

The GSK IMPACT Awards will be presented during live ceremonies at 12:00 noon ET on Tuesday, November 11 in Philadelphia and on Tuesday, November 18 in Durham, following the skills-based volunteering event in each location beginning at 9:00 am ET.

Each year, the winners are selected by a panel of GSK and community leaders through a competitive process. The winning nonprofits have demonstrated that they improve community health through innovative ideas, measured outcomes, collaborative partnerships, and accountable leadership.

In the Philadelphia region, the GSK IMPACT Awards are presented in collaboration with Philadelphia Foundation (@PhilaFound).

"We're deeply grateful for our longstanding partnership with GSK, who goes the extra mile to connect deeply and drive impact," said Pedro A Ramos, President and CEO of Philadelphia Foundation. "And we offer our hearty congratulations to this year's GSK IMPACT Award winners — many of whom we have partnered with for years. We know they will put the unrestricted dollars and professional expertise generously provided through the Award to good use in our communities."

In the Triangle region, the GSK IMPACT Awards are presented in partnership with Triangle Community Foundation (@TriComFdn).

“Our partnership with GSK is a powerful example of what can be achieved when organizations unite around common goals,” said Lori O’Keefe, President & CEO at Triangle Community Foundation. “Additionally, the unrestricted nature of this award showcases our approach to philanthropy, trusting nonprofits to deploy funding to meet community needs.”
