GSK honors Triangle nonprofits making a positive IMPACT on health outcomes in NC

GSK and Triangle Community Foundation honor ten local nonprofit organizations with $40,000 GSK IMPACT Awards for improving health outcomes in the Triangle region.

There will be interview opportunities before and after the awards ceremony at GSK’s RTP site, as well as b-roll opportunities on-site at winning non-profit organizations upon request.

2017 GSK IMPACT Award winners for the Triangle Region, NC:

Communities in Schools of Wake County helps schools remove the barriers that put students at risk of wasting their potential, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life through supportive relationships.

The Community Empowerment Fund helps individuals who are experiencing homelessness and financial insecurity to gain employment, secure housing, connect to supportive resources and build financial stability.

DHIC, Inc. is dedicated to developing high-quality housing communities in the Triangle region.

Diaper Bank of North Carolina works to ensure families with babies and children across North Carolina who are living with poverty have an adequate supply of diapers and personal hygiene products.

EmPOWERment Inc. empowers people and communities to determine their own destinies through affordable housing, community organizing and grassroots economic development.

Families Together provides access to safe, affordable housing; temporary rental and utilities assistance; and case management to break the cycle of homelessness for families with children in our community.

Orange County Partnership for Young Children’s mission is to ensure that every child in Orange County arrives at school healthy and ready to succeed.

Partners for Youth Opportunity helps youth to connect, develop and contribute to the community through mentoring, employment and educational support.

Reinvestment Partners’ mission is to advocate for economic justice and opportunity by working with people, places, and policy across the Triangle.

Student Action with Farmworkers works with young people to improve the lives of farmworkers and their families.
