About the Vax Heroes campaign
Vax Heroes is a national campaign developed in partnership with the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) to recognize and celebrate pharmacists and pharmacy technicians across the United States. Timed to American Pharmacists Month in October and Pharmacist Appreciation Week, October 18–25, Vax Heroes shines a spotlight on the critical role pharmacy teams play in advancing adult immunization and protecting public health.
With an increase in pharmacy-based adult immunizations in recent years, pharmacists’ clinical responsibilities have expanded, leading to increasing workload pressures and burnout, often with limited recognition for their growing impact. Vax Heroes is designed to help bridge this gap by amplifying the stories of APhA’s Immunization Champion Award winners, sharing their real-world experiences more broadly to inspire pharmacists across the country.
The Vax Heroes campaign is grounded in real experiences and stories sourced from practicing pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Throughout October, the campaign will deploy a mix of storytelling, digital content, and recognition-focused activations across pharmacist-focused channels:
• Vax Heroes Video Vignettes: Featuring APhA Immunization Champion Award winners and real immunization moments, highlighting the everyday actions pharmacy teams take to help protect patients and communities through vaccination.
• APhA Rx Report Podcast: An educational episode featuring Vax Heroes discussing the value of vaccines and the importance of pharmacist advocacy.
