GSK observes National Prostate Health Month

Blue ribbonEnlarging prostate (EP) disease affects nearly 50% of men over 50. It can cause annoying urinary symptoms and have an impact on intimacy. While age is the greatest factor attributable to EP, it's not something that they need to accept as a sign of aging. A man can do something about it.

Visit www.prostatecare.com and take the prostate health assessment, if you're a man over 50. Women and young men can also take the assessment on behalf of the men in their life.

Every man over the age of 50 should have an annual prostate exam and a test called a Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) test. A PSA test result > 1.5 ng/ml indicates that a man may be at risk of EP.

GSK's Philadelphia headquarters will be illuminated in blue for the month of September to represent the blue ribbon of prostate health-and to remind men over 50 to schedule a prostate exam.
