The National Business Group on Health (NBGH), a national non-profit organization of large employers, has named GSK as A Top Employer for Promoting Healthy LifeStyles.
GSK was among 52 employers to receive the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award at the Leadership Summit sponsored by the National Business Group on Health’s Institute on the Costs and Health Effects of Obesity. GSK received a Platinum Award—the highest honor—for its commitment to fostering a culture that supports healthy high performance.
GSK has been previously honored by the NBGH. In 2007, GSK received a Behavioral Health Award for its commitment and dedication to helping employees and their families cope with mental health and substance abuse disorders through Team Resilience, an Employee Health Management program that is offered globally to help teams become more resilient and effective. In 2006, GSK received a Gold Award for promoting a healthy workplace.
Now in its fourth year, the Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles awards acknowledge and reward those employers that recognize the urgent need to improve their workers’ health, productivity, and quality of life. The underlying goal of the program is to serve as a catalyst to encourage all employers to take action.
