It's never good to have a disease, but it's reassuring to know that there's more help today than ever before. The outlook is better today for people with some of America's most common and deadly diseases: heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and cancer. Why? In part it is because of advances in medical research, including new medicines; in part it is due to healthy lifestyle choices—making healthier decisions and staying active.
