Research Triangle Park region IMPACT Awards

On December 10, 2009, the GlaxoSmithKline 1st Annual IMPACT awards will be given to nine nonprofit organizations in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina region. Each nonprofit will be awarded $40,000 to continue their important work in the community. A judging panel made up of leading healthcare experts and GlaxoSmithKline representatives selected the following winners:
- Alliance Medical Ministry, Inc.
- The Alliance of AIDS Services – Carolina
- Diabetes Management Solutions
- Family Violence & Rape Crisis Services, Inc.
- Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood
- National Society to Prevent Blindness-North Carolina Affiliate
- Threshold, Inc.
- Urban Ministries of Wake County, Inc.
- Wake Teen Medical Services Inc.
The GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards target community-based healthcare nonprofit organizations that provide access to healthcare for the underserved. The awards have been presented annually in both the U.S. (Philadelphia) and UK (London) for over 10 years.
Organizations must have been in existence as an independent 501(c)(3) for at least five years. Awards are bestowed upon organizations and not specific programs.
The 2010 awards application will be available on this website during the first quarter in 2010.
