GlaxoSmithKline 3rd Annual IMPACT Awards

The GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards acknowledge, highlight, and reward excellence in the nonprofit healthcare community by targeting organizations in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina that provide access to healthcare for the underserved.
On December 7, 2011, the GlaxoSmithKline 3rd Annual IMPACT Awards were presented to six nonprofit organizations from the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina. Each winner will be awarded $40,000 to continue their important work in the community. A panel of judges consisting of leading healthcare experts and GlaxoSmithKline representatives selected the following winners:
- The Healing Place of Wake County
- Helping Hand Clinic, Inc.
- Housing for New Hope, Inc.
- More Free Care Clinic, Inc.
- North Carolina Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc.
- Senior PharmAssist, Inc.
In North Carolina, nonprofit organizations in Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Franklin, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Orange, Person and Wake Counties are eligible to apply.
Since the awards began in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, community-based, healthcare-related nonprofits have been awarded over $6 million in recognition of their success dealing with diverse and difficult health issues such as access to care, genetic disorders, dental health, breast health, mental health, aging and chronic diseases.
In addition to access to healthcare, the selection criteria for the Awards include commitment to serving people in need; facilitating access to healthcare delivery, education, creative partnerships, and policy development; and demonstration of a solid record of achievement, management and leadership.
