GlaxoSmithKline 15th Annual IMPACT Awards
Philadelphia area
The GlaxoSmithKline IMPACT Awards acknowledge, highlight, and reward excellence in the nonprofit healthcare community by targeting organizations in the Philadelphia area that provide access to healthcare for the underserved.
On December 6, 2011, the GlaxoSmithKline 15th Annual Awards were presented to four nonprofit organizations in the Philadelphia area. Each nonprofit was awarded $40,000 to continue their important work in the community. A judging panel made up of leading healthcare experts and GlaxoSmithKline representatives selected the following winners:
- Legal Clinic for the Disabled, Inc.
- Phoenixville Healthcare Access Foundation
- Support Center for Child Advocates
- Water Street Health Services
Since the awards began in Pennsylvania and North Carolina, community-based, healthcare-related nonprofits have been awarded over $6 million in recognition of their success dealing with diverse and difficult health issues such as access to care, genetic disorders, dental health, breast health, mental health, aging and chronic diseases.
In addition to access to healthcare, the selection criteria for the Awards include commitment to serving people in need; facilitating access to healthcare delivery, education, creative partnerships, and policy development; and demonstration of a solid record of achievement, management and leadership.
Information about the work of this year’s winning organizations is available in the GlaxoSmithKline US IMPACT Awards profile booklet (PDF).
