I joined GSK because we have excellent products and a rich pipeline that can truly improve or save peoples lives. What have been the challenges in your role?
I feel the biggest challenge our sales force faces are issues of customer access. Due to the demand for clinicians, some have either limited access or completely closed their practices to representatives. In the wake of this change, we must ensure that we are bringing value on every call and find new and innovative ways to engage our customers.
What have you learnt and enjoyed?
I have really enjoyed having the opportunity to learn and promote products in a variety of disease state areas. But, the most enjoyable and rewarding aspects of my job is knowing that I have contributed to helping patients.
GSK has supported my aspirations by affording me with several opportunities to develop professionally.
What responsibility and progression have you experienced so far?
I have been a Penn Labs Sales Representative, Neuroscience Sales Consultant, Oncology & Acute Care Account Manager, Talent Acquisition Specialist and a Acute Care Executive Account Manager. I also undertook a graduate position on the Emerging Leaders Development Program.
What are your career aspirations and how do you see GSK supporting that?
My short term career aspiration is to become a District Sales Manager and my long term professional goal is to be a Regional Vice President. I have been a regional mentor, Associate Sales Trainer, Talent Acquisition Specialist and a participant on both the Regional Development Program and Emerging Leaders Development Program.
