US community partnerships
Much of what influences our health happens outside the doctor’s office – in our communities. Community factors, such as education, safety, access to healthy foods and recreational spaces, and the support of families and social networks, undeniably contribute to our health.
Where we are born and raised, live, and work, matters to our health. That’s why GSK partners with local nonprofit partners to build healthier communities. We have several signature programs in the US: our charitable grants, our IMPACT Awards and Grants, Opportunity Scholarships, and Science in the Summer.
The more we understand the connection between our health and our community, the more we can improve it. At GSK, we are guided by our mission of helping people do more, feel better, and live longer. To achieve this mission, we must go beyond discovering, developing, and delivering new medicines, vaccines, and healthcare products. We must address health challenges where they often start – in our communities. Through GSK charitable grants, we invest in outstanding nonprofit programs to improve lives and build healthier communities.
Science in the Summer™
We want children to discover the wonders of science and consider a career in science one day. That's why we offer Science in the Summer™, a free science education program that helps elementary school children grow to love science. Through classes held in public libraries and other community-based organizations, the program gets kids excited about learning science with hands-on experiments.
